Recent research into traffic flow has shown that a traffic jam with related accidents is mainly caused by uncontrolled braking and accelerating of the
individual vehicles. Radar sensors which measure the distance to the vehicle in front, and record the relative speed, provide the data base for a regulating system which adjusts driving behavior automatically to the
needs of the traffic flow. Sensors for front obstacle collision avoidance, stop & go and impact prediction place a safety belt around the vehicle to avoid accidents.
